Pro Boxing returns to St. James Park with boxing promoter Steve Wraith and legendary British boxer Pat Barrett. This particular event was gaining a lot of momentum with Pat Barrett ( Black Flash Promotions ) co – promoting and bringing his friends and fighters to the event. Pat Barrett has his eyes firmly set on Newcastle upon Tyne and looking forward to bringing his won professional boxers to this fighting city. Pat, also hooked up with boxing promoters – Fighting Chance and will look to co-promote an event in the near future.
peep approached pro boxing at St James Newcastle slightly different with a string of mini narratives around the football stadium and a ‘fly on the wall‘ tour of the football ground and changing rooms. peep also produced a series of interviews and social media campaigns to create awareness. We tried to focus on each and every fighter going into this tournament, including rising star Sam Best and Geoff Saunders. Both fighters bring their unbeaten record to the fight scheduled. Another highlight of the marketing was walking out onto St James Park football field and interviewing some of the boxers fighting on the night. Although peep is not known for covering football, it was a great experience being shown around the changing rooms and other areas of the football ground.
We also filmed the entire press conferences within The Grosvenor Casino located in Newcastle city centre. We also recorded more interviews within this area for a real push on the event.
‘Showdown at St James‘ was a great night of boxing with two upcoming stars of the North East – Sam Best and Jeff Saunders ( younger brother of Bradley Saunders ) – both fighters won a unanimous decisions on the night.
