Summer Rumble Pro Boxing with Phil Jeffries. peep® Newcastle to Cover Journalism and Events in Sunderland Stadium Of Light.

Summer Rumble Pro boxing promoterPhil Jeffries contacted peep to cover the largest professional Summer Rumble boxing event in North East England – Summer Rumble Boxing Show at the Stadium of Light, Sunderland. peep and Phil Jeffries go way back to 2013 when we covered our first ever professional boxing event in Newcastle called ‘Road to Glory‘ promoted with boxing promoter Mark Clauzel.

Over the years, we have covered a number of Press Conferences and photographed many shows with boxing promoter – Phil Jeffries. Phil decided to retire, but the retirement was short-lived, as he returned to showcase some of the largest ‘small hall shows‘ the North East has seen in recent years.

The Summer Rumble was a real chance for peep to market, film and photograph larger professional combat sports show in the way of interviews, Press Conferences coverage, weigh-ins documentation and full coverage of the show including commentary from Phil Lindsay and Andrew Buchannen. We even managed to get some of the boxers involved with commentary and asked Lewis Ritson and Tommy Partrick Ward to help out. Great eh?

The last show we covered at the stadium of Light in Sunderland was a British Title Defence with title belt holder Glenn Foot and challenger – undefeated light-welterweight prospect Akeem Brown. This was open – air Boxing event that was staged at the Stadium Of Light in Sunderland. This fight proved to be an upset, as Boxer Akeem Brown AKA- ( Riddy Riddy Rival ) out-pointed the champion to take away the British title belt. This was an unforgettable day of North East Boxing and will remain a highlight of peep magazine’s professional boxing coverage.

We feel there was an energy to these shows and hope this reflects in our coverage. Please feel free to check our complete professional boxing shows on the channel peep Newcastle boxing playlist

There are too many individual photographs to showcase, so if you are interested we have compiled a Professional Boxing archive over on peep Flickr account please feel free to check the work.
