No28 Bar and Club owner Paul Skevington talks to peep about his many business ventures within Newcastle upon Tyne including Zerox, North Bar, Nice Club Nights, Camp David, Billy Bootleggers, Cosmic Ballroom, Planet Earth, Rockshots and Stage Door.

Paul also describes being involved in Newcastle’s only 24 hour Dance Music Radio Station – ICE FM. The station played dance music and promoted club nights such as Nice, Camp David and Cosmic Ballroom, which were all situated in Newcastle city centre.

ICE FM was a revolutionary radio station based in Newcastle upon Tyne that played 24 hour dance music. The station welcomed the cities creative talent including World Headquarters owner – Tommy Caulker. Tom has collected small parts of the history of ICE Fm , which is situated within this interview.

Paul Skevington described his childhood as very happy and normal with a hope of studying computing. He then enrolled to study computing at Northumbria University and then later change this to business studies. He explains he had a love for 2000AD Comics and recalls a story where he lost his entire collection.

whilst still being a student at Northumbria University. Paul cut his teeth at promoting house parties in Jesmond Vale, Newcastle. The house parties turned out to be complete nightmares for the residents as a series of emergency calls were made by annoyed neighbours complaining of the noise. Paul “SKEV” was unfortunately arrested many times during these after club house parties in Newcastle.

Paul went on to manage a series of night spots in Newcastle but has decided to stay with one pub today called Bar 28. The bar is situated at the entrance of Grainger Market and resides on Nelson Street NE1 5AN. The bar features brick-walled club and bar venue with a long cocktail list and menu of international favourites.
